ABOUT ABOUT

#1 Fact: Most domestic violence incidents are never reported

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month, a time to stand in solidarity for those who have experienced and survived domestic violence and remember those who lost their lives as a result. It’s also a time to bring awareness and inspire action to stop cycles of abuse.

After a recent incident involving the neighbors of Kimberly Lindo, coupled with ongoing recent media attention surrounding the issue, she decided it was time to join the fight against domestic violence. This cause is near and dear to her and many of us who have  had a personal connection to this issue and many of us know people who have also been affected.

A great way to spread awareness is by first having conversations. Unfortunately, domestic abuse is one of the more taboo social issues, with most incidents never being reported. Many people are scared to talk about it, but they shouldn’t be! The purpose of this Spiked Movie Night is to spark natural dialogue and create an opportunity for both men and women to share experiences or opinions and break silence in a fun, interactive environment.

You can visit FoodBeforeLove.com right now in true Spiked Fashion to vote for the following movies:

-What’s Love Got To Do With It

-Enough
